_Here’s an interesting fact. If you are 25 pounds overweight, your heart must pump blood to 5,000 more miles of blood vessels. That’s crazy!
_We have all heard the success stories of people losing hundreds of pounds and keeping it off. Fitness milestones are no laughing matter. You may know someone personally that has radically changed their body.
_If your friend has kept that weight off for more than a year or two, it is guaranteed they have been exercising and eating right to keep their weight in check.
_Once again, there are no shortcuts to fitness. It is simply burning more calories that you are taking in and keeping your lifestyle in check.
_Working so hard to shed away a hundred pounds changes a person. Not just physically, but mentally.
_That person is now more attractive to the opposite sex. They feel better and often have a much more active lifestyle. They also had to consistently change their outlook on food, diet, exercise and health.
_Each one of their fitness milestones changed them.
_This is where people differ. Some are so focused on the scale that they are happy to see a particular number. Once that number hits, they are satisfied and they continue to maintain their life so that number stays within range.
_Others are more concerned with their activities. Yes, they have shed some pounds but their focus might begin with playing with their kids. They might then develop a love for a new sport or athletic activity.
_A different fitness milestone all together due to healthy foods has started some down a culinary career path.
_The point in all this, you change with weight loss. And for each person, their fitness milestones will look different. It’s all about keeping yourself motivated, finding a new challenge.
_You wouldn’t expect a bodybuilder to bench the same weight for 15 years. You also shouldn’t expect a person to think about food the same way at 115 lbs that they did at 240.
_A good place to start is to dream big. Contemplate what you would like to do on your path to fitness. Make your own personal goals along the way.
_Don’t worry about changing your milestones down the road.
_As you get more familiar with your body and how fitness has changed your life, many fitness milestones will change slightly.
_You might have an end goal to walk a half marathon. After training and losing excess weight you might think running a half is possible.
_You might even start seeing that full marathon in view. Grow with it!
