A schedule that is packed full might take you far in life. However, if you don’t have the “gym” on your to-do list it might be rather difficult to either get into or stay in shape.
There are tons of people these days who are staying fit outside the gym. Some of them have a running routine or are devoted to DVD workout shows. Quite a few other people simply incorporate some exercise into their daily life.
This is not about planning a “crunch routine” in front of the television; this is about doing things in such a way that calories are burned.
For example, uou can park your car a couple of houses a way. What’s the harm in walking an extra 100 feet each time you go to your car?
When you go somewhere, park your vehicle in the back of the parking lot. Take the stairs instead of slacking off and using the elevator. Simple little tricks where you can get more fitness out the day.
These opportunities may not happen everyday, but when they do happen take full advantage of them. If you forgot to get the milk, take a walk to the store instead of driving. Then while you are coming home you can do a couple bicep curls or presses with the milk.
If you need to get something out of a low cupboard, squat down to get it instead of bending at the knee or crawling around.
The most important thing about exercise in your daily life is finding a way to keep moving. On the phone? Walk around with it. House needs to be cleaned? Do it yourself.
Need a drink? Don’t ask your spouse or friend to get it for you, walk to the kitchen yourself.
As you can very plainly see, it really isn’t that difficult to burn calories by putting more exercise in daily life type activities.
Each and everyone of these tips can burn anywhere from a few calories to hundreds a week depending on how often you implement them. Of course these little tips and tricks can work for a lot of people.
Even if you decide to go visit the gym 4 times a week, you can benefit from a little more work. Remember that nothing has ever disproved the theory of “calories in/calories out”. Just a little shave here, an extra burn there can make all the difference in the world. Your world.
